Advisor and Brand Ambassador - SOCIOLADDER MENA FZ-LLCHH Sayyida Hujaija Jaifer Saif AlSaid,a member of the Royal family in sultanate of Oman obtained her degree in Economics(with minor in Psychology)from the American university in Cairo in2001.There she was actively involved as a volunteer in organizations that dealt with child rights,orphans,and issues concerning people with special needs.She was the first Omani woman to open uniform show room which provides uniforms for all types of business Sayyida Hujaija was selected as the Head of the Omani business women delegation to Shanghai Expo2010. Now she is a volunteer chairman for the welfare of the handicapped children in oman .The association was established in 1996 by a Royal Decree, it was however functioning since 1991 and is considered the oldest and most well established association in Oman.we serve children from 5 -14 years. Disabilities in these children are of different natures including, mental, physical and a mix of both in addition to children with autism. We serve children from all nationalities free of charge. Our services to children are from 8 am to 1230 pm, five days a week.
We offer children rehabilitative service, and we focus on teaching children self dependeance and self reliance in addition to teaching them basic educational principles such as English, Arabic, Quran and Math. As we realise the importance of the role of parents with their children, we also train and educate parents on how to deal with their children on day to dya basis.
We are a non-profitable organisation, for covering our costs and expenses we depend on donations from the private and government sector and through fund raising initatives. As you must be aware that running an organisation as such is not an easy task, we have a number of expenses that we must cover regularly such as paying the teachers and health/ education workers, the therapists, accomodation for the staff, health insurance, consumables and stationaries for the children, transportation of the children, meals and equipment to help them cope with their disabilities.
